The War against the Fruit Fly!

Last week I was talking to my Sister-In-Law about our common issue with the "FRUIT FLY". We both love to buy fruit, but hate to deal with the annoying insects that sometimes come home with our prize produce! A few days after our conversation a good friend of mine had a tiny dish on her kitchen counter and to my excitement it was her weapon against the fruit fly!!

What you need...
1. A small bowl or dish
2. A small amount of Apple Vinegar (to attract the fly)
3. A squirt of dish soap on the top

That is all you need, the fly will be attracted to the vinegar and try to land on top of it, but the soap brakes the seal on the vinegar and the flies drown in a bath of vinegar. Just clean out the dish when you find a few dead flies in it and start again....

*You can also try washing all your produce as soon as you get home to kill the eggs on the fruit.

*Poor bleach in your sink to kill the eggs that went down your sink, and clean your trash can with bleach or antibacterial wipes.

Hope this helps...
Thanks Amber for the discussion and Stephanie for the ideas and advice!
